Flip the Script on those Winter Blues!

Find Inspiration from the Calming Color Blue

February 11, 2020

Congratulations, you made it through January! Thanks to our furry friend in Pennsylvania, Punxsutawney Phil, spring just might come early this year. However, we committed at the start of 2020 to not wish time away. We are committed to celebrating the best of every day and that includes the several weeks of winter still ahead.

To help you do the same, we’re sharing some of our favorite cool colors that will turn your winter blues into inspirational-hues for your home!

Blue is known as, “the color of the mind.” It is calming and mentally soothing, unlike red that can trigger a physical reaction. Not to mention, it’s just so darn pretty! Blue is one color that can be so timeless, yet always sparks new trends. In fact, House Beautiful recently reported that French Blue just might be the NEW Millennial Pink– a longtime color of the moment.

Because blue is serene and bright, it can be used in every room in your home. We love to work blue into kitchens and bathrooms– like this recently remodeled this kitchen in Easton, PA, with a lovely blue tile backsplash. The original cabinets were kept intact, just painted white to compliment the new appliances, updated island, and clear acrylic fixtures on the cabinet doors.

The brands we use to make homes beautiful are full of blue-inspiration that will make it feel like spring inside your home. Enjoy this photo gallery of our top blue decor from our top vendors!

Kravet Inc. calls classic blue, “a thoughtful color with a calming ambiance.” We love their upholstery and wall coverings!

1. Blue sectional from Kravet, Inc. giving off a peaceful vibe. 2. Gorgeous place setting with a tablecloth from Duralee. 3. Wesley Hall Furniture calls this blue look “classic made current.” We love it!

4. The Plymouth Chest from World’s Away is a traditional-touch under a more contemporary blue glass mirror. 5. Visual Comfort shared this eye-candy entry way, which features a floor lamp by J. Randall Powers. 6. Soicher Marin wall art was one of our favorite things a High Point Market in 2019, these modern prints blend several shades of blue, which we highly recommend!

After scrolling through these images, we’ve made several conclusions. First, there is NOTHING to be blue about when you have an amazing job like us, helping others live their best lives in a home they love. Second, we will ALWAYS bring blue swatches or decor when meeting with a new client for the first time, or during our one-day mini-makeovers. We feel tranquil just looking at these photos, but still energized and ready to work!

Without giving too much away, there are more exciting BLUE-ideas in our future. Make sure you are on our email list to get the update that we are ONLY sharing with our subscribers! Sign up on the form below!
